RLK Solicitors has promoted Jamie Mackenzie to Associate within its Insurance
Litigation team, reflecting both his individual contribution and the firm’s continued
investment in its wider dispute resolution and litigation practice.
The promotion comes amid sustained demand from businesses seeking clear,
strategic advice on complex disputes, where early resolution, commercial certainty
and robust litigation support are critical. Jamie’s progression recognises his role in
managing complex matters day to day and supporting business owners and SMEs
through high-value and often contested insurance disputes, with a strong focus on
achieving the right outcome rather than litigation for its own sake.
Jamie advises clients across the full lifecycle of disputes, from early assessment and
strategic positioning through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution and, where
necessary, litigation. His experience working closely with insurers gives him a clear
understanding of dispute strategy and insurer decision-making, enabling him to
identify pressure points, assess risk realistically and pursue resolutions that align
with clients’ commercial objectives.
Originally qualifying as a barrister, Jamie brings valuable advocacy experience to his
role. He has represented both claimants and defendants in County Court hearings,
particularly in applications and quantum disputes, where his clear, measured
approach has consistently delivered effective outcomes. This blend of advocacy and
litigation experience strengthens RLK’s ability to progress disputes efficiently and
with authority.
Before joining RLK Solicitors, Jamie practised at a Legal 500 firm where he
predominantly acted for insurers and transport operators. He worked on a wide
range of civil claims and developed a strong reputation for identifying when claims
did not withstand scrutiny.
